With extensive experience in healthcare communications, public relations and digital marketing, Chris Ferris, Ph.D., is an innovative communication leader passionate about digital strategy and customer-focused technologies.
He has worked in public relations and marketing for some of the top hospitals in Texas and has a proven track record of moving organizations to embrace new digital technologies to meet evolving customer expectations. As vice president of digital strategy at Pierpont, he has expanded the firm’s digital practices in online marketing, social media and analytics.
Ferris earned advanced degrees in Communication (M.A.) from the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Pennsylvania and Health Policy (Ph.D.) from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. Outside the office, he is a lecturer in management at the Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice University, where he teaches a self-designed digital marketing course for MBA students. Ferris also serves as a member of the Texas Medical Center (TMC) Innovation Institute Advisory Network, providing strategic and tactical guidance to nascent healthcare technology companies.
He is married with two children and enjoys spending his free time volunteering as an assistant coach on his son’s soccer team.
