Pierpont’s Executive Counsel Terry Heymeyer Awarded Emeritus Status at UT

Pierpont’s executive counsel Terry Hemeyer has been named to emeritus status on The University of Texas at Austin’s Moody College of Communication’s Advisory Council. 

Hemeyer has served on the council and has taught at the college for over 30 years. He presently is an Associate Professor of Practice with the Stan Richards School of Advertising and Public Relations. During his time on the Council he served as Chair and was named a lifetime member.

Interim Dean Anita Vangelisti thanked Hemeyer for his time, advocacy and service, saying: “We look forward to having you as an emeritus member.”

During his tenure with the University he initiated, developed and taught the first courses in PR Management and PR Strategy, served on multiple search and project committees, served on the UT Faculty Disability and Access Board, received the “Eyes of Texas” award from students and the Moody Jeffrey Award for outstanding teaching.

Hemeyer also serves as executive counsel with Pierpont Communications handling crisis communications and numerous sensitive and critical issues for Pierpont’s clients.

“Terry has been an invaluable resource, mentor, and advisor for dozens of Pierpont employees and clients,” said Pierpont CEO, Phil Morabito. “This is a wonderful tribute to a terrific guy. We’re so happy for Terry.”
