Sims Joins Political Roundtable on "Houston Matters"

Pierpont Senior Vice President Nancy Sims recently participated in a political roundtable on Houston Public Media News 88.7, discussing the latest local, statewide and national developments and how those events are impacting Houston and the state.

During the show, Sims and fellow panelists discussed Gov. Greg Abbott’s visit to Washington seeking more than $60 billion for Harvey relief, ongoing indictments in the Robert Mueller investigation, a federal judge considering whether to extend the temporary halt to Houston’s ban on homeless camps, speculation about who could replace Texas House Speaker Joe Straus after he announced he won’t seek re-election next year, and more.

The panel of experts also included Mark Jones, political science fellow at Rice University’s Baker Institute for Public Policy and Andrew Schneider, politics and government reporter for News 88.7.

As leader of Pierpont’s public affairs practice, Nancy advises clients in a variety of industries on reputation management, crisis communications, government relations, stakeholder communications and civic engagement. She also serves as a lecturer at the University of Houston’s political science department.
