As Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Pierpont Dallas office, Jim leads the growing team in North Texas dedicated to supporting the communications needs of local, regional and global clients. His corporate communications and brand marketing experience drives his deep understanding of clients’ business objectives. During his agency experience over the years, he has contributed to the brand and reputation success of numerous clients across industry sectors, including Bank of Oklahoma Financial (Bank of Texas), BNY Mellon, Citibank, Capgemini, Sabre, Enel, KBR Symantec, British Telecom, Forest Park Medical Center, Entrust, International Association of Events and Exhibitions and the Wi-Fi Alliance.

Jim joined Pierpont in 2015 after successfully leading the corporate practice at Edelman in Dallas. Prior to joining Edelman, he served as executive vice president of communications and marketing at Canada’s Western Financial Group, a part of Desjardins Financial, the world’s largest credit union. Throughout his career, he has filled various senior leadership roles at Western Financial Group Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland and Philips Electronics. He founded RainCoast Group, a Dallas-based global tech sector communications and marketing consultancy, and led groups with GTE Corporation (now Verizon), the Pacific Telecommunications Council, and the Canadian Federal Department of Communications (Industry Canada).

Jim is a recognized communications and reputation management leader and has published multiple books and articles. He is on the Board of the Institute for Public Relations Research Conference, serving also as Commissioner for the Institute and on the Convergence Council of the S. I. Newhouse School of Communications (Syracuse University). He chairs the Canada-Texas Chamber of Commerce, serves on the Board of the Dallas Council on Foreign Relations and is on the Dallas Regional Chamber’s Innovation and International Task Forces. Jim has an M.Sc. from the London School of Economics and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of British Columbia, Canada.
