An affable and natural leader, with a bad case of the political bug, David Gonzalez is a trusted advisor helping clients navigate intricate governmental affairs issues. He provides counsel on civic engagement, reputation management, stakeholder communications and media relations matters and has strong relationships with local elected officials and executive staffers dating back to his high school years.
Aside from public affairs, David supports public relations initiatives and manages Latino media engagement for clients in industries including energy, healthcare, retail, associations and non-profits. Some of his current and former clients include: Walmart, Verizon, Sunoco Logistics, Magellan Midstream Partners, Trinity Mother Frances Hospitals & Clinics, Legacy Community Health, Hotel Lodging Association of Greater Houston, Building Owners and Managers Association, Greater Houston Restaurant Association, Houston Theater District and many more.
David is also an Adjunct Professor of Communications at the University of Houston and stays active in the community serving on the advisory board of the Houston Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), volunteering with a diverse group of community organizations, and mentoring local high school and university students. He’s frequently invited to speak at seminars and career fairs about his work in the industry and government affairs.
David was recently named a Rising Star by the League of Women Voters of the Houston Area, a non-partisan organization encouraging informed and active participation of citizens in government, for his community and political engagement. A little known fact about David is that he taught himself how to play the piano. He never took lessons and doesn’t know how to read music, but has a musical ear – sometimes it’s scary! David is a proud supporter of his alma mater, the University of Houston, and looks forward to UH football season! GO COOGS!
