David Gonzalez is an account supervisor and trusted bilingual public affairs advisor supporting corporate clients manage their reputational risks through strategic community engagement, stakeholder communication and media relations programs. He’s guided organizations through crises, media relations challenges and message development, and successfully developed and implemented complex public engagement campaigns.
David has worked with clients across a wide range of industries and sectors, including energy, healthcare, manufacturing, real estate, retail and transportation. He has led engagements and high-profile projects for global brands such as Walmart, Verizon, Uber, Daikin Industries, Bahri Logistics, CHI St. Luke’s Health, among many others. His knowledge and experience have allowed David to counsel clients through intricate public relations and governmental affairs issues.
Prior to joining Pierpont, David assessed local community engagement programs for a national nonprofit and ensured overall program effectiveness. In addition to his role at Pierpont, David is an adjunct professor of communications at the University of Houston.
Recently, David was appointed by Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner to the Mayor’s Houston Hispanic Advisory Board and named a Rising Star by the League of Women Voters of the Houston Area, a non-partisan organization encouraging informed and active participation of citizens in government, for his community and political engagement. He earned a bachelor’s degree in corporate communications and a master’s in public relations from the University of Houston.
