Job Description

Pierpont Communications, Inc. is seeking a Vice President of Marketing. This role is ideal for a senior level marketing professional with 15+ years of experience to support its growing integrated marketing practice. This position requires both business-to-business and business-to-consumer marketing/advertising and branding expertise.  Consulting experience is preferred. The ideal candidate will be an entrepreneurial individual with strong business development skills who is heavily networked in the Houston market.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting the firm’s new business efforts and must be able to manage a team, develop, manage execute and measure strategies and tactics for clients, develop and manage budgets and take total profit and loss financial responsibility for the practice. This person also will be expected to initiate and execute the agency’s ongoing marketing efforts and have a proven ability to successfully deploy digital and social media programs.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 15+ years agency experience
  • Marketing experience on corporate side highly preferred
  • Proven managerial skills of multiple employees
  • Experience making high level presentations to C-level marketing professionals
  • Extensive experience writing high-level strategic proposals, marketing plans and the ability to sell those plans through to C-level
  • Experienced in developing marketing strategy, integrated advertising and marketing campaigns
  • Experienced in execution and ROI
  • Must have experience with digital marketing initiatives including: web, social/mobile, video, e-mail.
  • Established record of accomplishing successful results for clients
  • Excellent client/account service record
  • Experience interacting with C-Suite
  • Agency management experience

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Initiate, manage and execute business development and growth for integrated marketing practice
  • Function as the agency’s principal consultant in developing advertising and marketing strategies for both the agency and its’ clients
  • Manage senior level client relationships and have regular exposure to client senior management
  • Create, lead, manage and execute client strategies and tactics
  • Manage/motivate direct reports
  • Responsible for employee reviews/identifying new hires
  • Budget/P& L responsibility, basic business financial knowledge
