Summary: One year after launching Pierpont’s Arizona office, we have built relationships, added talent, and expanded our regional footprint to serve critical industries across the Mountain West.

  • Arizona is one of the fastest-growing states in the country, ranking seventh for numeric population growth and eighth for percentage growth in the latest U.S. Census Bureau estimates.
  • Pierpont pairs nearly 40 years of national experience with deep expertise in the sectors fueling Arizona’s growth.
  • Pierpont Arizona added Senior Account Executive Abby Lynne this year as part of a deliberate build-out of local talent.
  • Pierpont serves the Mountain West with a presence across Arizona, Colorado, and New Mexico, positioning ourselves to support critical industry the way no other PR firm in the region can.

A Year of Showing Up

A year ago, I joined Pierpont Communications to launch the firm’s Arizona office. Pierpont is one of the largest independent public relations, marketing, digital strategy, and public affairs firms in the U.S., with nearly 40 years of history. The chance to build something new in my home market was an opportunity I could not pass up.

Twelve months in, the thing I keep coming back to is not a campaign or a placement. It is the people. This first year was about showing up, listening, and earning a seat at the table in one of the fastest-growing markets in the country. What we have built here started with relationships, and everything since has followed from that.

Relationships First: How We Built a Foundation in Phoenix

Phoenix does business on trust. You earn your place by showing up, adding value, and being useful before you ever ask for anything. That is how we approached year one, and it shapes how we show up in this market today.

We joined Phoenix Community Alliance to engage the civic and business leaders shaping the future of this city. We showed up at Venture Cafe Phoenix events and met the entrepreneurs and innovators building companies from the ground up. As part of our nationwide engagement, Pierpont sponsored EY’s Entrepreneur of the Year program in the Pacific Southwest region, which includes Arizona, where we had the privilege of engaging founders through nominations, interviews, and nominee receptions.

Some of those conversations turned into client relationships. Others turned into referral sources and community advocates. All of them reinforced something I already believed: when you lead with relationships, the business follows.

Aligning Our Expertise With Arizona’s Growth Sectors

Pierpont is a national firm with nearly 40 years of experience, and we are growing our Phoenix presence to match the pace of Arizona’s expansion. The sectors driving growth in the state are the same sectors where we have built deep expertise, which positions us to meet the critical communications needs of a market moving this fast.

Out of Arizona, we serve clients across technology, advanced manufacturing, healthcare, municipal government, and energy and infrastructure. Technology and advanced manufacturing sit at the center of the growth story. According to the Arizona Commerce Authority, Arizona has attracted more than 70 semiconductor expansions and over $314 billion in investment since 2020, more than any other state, and it is a national proving ground for autonomous vehicles. We support a leading autonomous vehicle company across multiple markets where public trust and reputation are on the line every day.

Phoenix is our Arizona home base, but our work is not bound by it. We serve clients across the country from here, pairing national scale with a team rooted in one of the fastest-growing markets in the U.S.

The through line in nearly every engagement is the same. These are leaders who need more than press releases. They need strategic counsel, integrated execution, and a communications partner who understands what is at stake when their reputation is on the line.

Growing the Team

Growth is not just about the client roster. It is about the people we bring on to serve it. In August, we welcomed Abby Lynne to the Phoenix office as a Senior Account Executive. Adding Abby is a signal of where we are headed: building a team with the range and the local knowledge to serve ambitious clients in a demanding market. Abby—who brings experience in media relations, crisis communications, strategic messaging, and executive positioning—is the right hire for what we need now and where we are going.

Built for the Mountain West

Arizona is one of the fastest-growing hubs in the country, and it anchors a region on the same trajectory. The Mountain West is where we see Pierpont’s next chapter, and we are already building toward it on the ground.

The industries driving each of these states are converging. Colorado leads the nation in private-sector aerospace employment per capita and is home to more than 500 aerospace companies. New Mexico’s emerging sectors including quantum and advanced computing, space and defense, intelligent manufacturing, and advanced energy have already added roughly $9 billion to that state’s economy, according to a New Mexico Chamber of Commerce Foundation report. Aerospace and space is one of Pierpont’s established practice areas, which matters in a region where Colorado and New Mexico have become national centers for the industry.

With team members on the ground in Arizona, Colorado, and New Mexico and deep expertise in the sectors that define the region, Pierpont is positioned to serve critical industry across the Mountain West. Few firms are built to do that. It takes local relationships, sector depth, and the ability to operate across connected markets, and that is exactly the footprint we are building.

The Bottom Line: Year Two Starts Now

The most important thing this first year confirmed is that the organizations willing to think ahead are the ones positioned to grow. That is true for our clients, and it is true for Pierpont.

The goal for year two is not just growth. It is depth. Deeper sector expertise, deeper client partnerships, and deeper roots across a region that has been more welcoming to us than we had any right to expect this quickly.

Phoenix is a city that rewards people who show up, do the work, and innovate. Pierpont will keep doing exactly that, here and across the region we are built to serve.
