For more than three decades, Andy Baron has carved out an impactful career in journalism, publishing, and public relations. He has interviewed national figures in politics, business, and culture, providing insights about a host of issues impacting our world.
Prior to joining Pierpont, Andy spearheaded public relations activities for Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) in Worcester, Mass., for nearly 10 years. He led media relations efforts for the university, providing messaging and media training to scientists and engineers that led to top-tier media coverage in outlets such as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Associated Press and BBC.
He was also the lead PR executive on a multi-university consortium—which included Texas A&M, University of Illinois, and Cornell University—that aimed to secure a multi-million dollar grant from the National Science Foundation for food safety technologies. Earlier at WPI, he was director of presidential communications for WPI President Laurie Leshin, serving as chief speechwriter and developing and communicating the former NASA space scientist’s platform as a public opinion leader.
