Armijo Joins Communities in Schools Board

Pierpont Executive Vice President Stacy Armijo was recently named to the Board of Directors of Communities in Schools of Central Texas.

Communities in Schools of Central Texas (CIS) helps keep kids in school by surrounding them with a community of support on some of Central Texas’ most challenged elementary, middle and high school campuses. Previously, Armijo was a Volunteer Mentor through CIS, working with a local student from 7th grade through high school graduation. She was named the CIS Volunteer of the Year in 2007 and now chairs the organization’s Public Outreach Committee.

Armijo has a long track record of service within Central Texas and in her industry. In addition to her role with CIS, Armijo currently serves on the national Board of Directors for the American Marketing Association, is a Trusted Advisor for Vistage International, and serves on the Member Relations Committee for the Austin Chamber of Commerce. She is also a former Chairman of the Board for the American Red Cross of Central Texas.

Furthering Pierpont’s commitment to education, Armijo also teaches “Strategies in Public Relations” for the Moody College of Communication at The University of Texas at Austin.
