Chris Jones, Senior Vice President, recently commented in Forbes on how remote working during COVID-19 is changing crisis management.
When the pandemic forced companies around the world to adopt remote working, corporate leaders also adapted their preparation, response and management of crisis situations. With the continuation of remote arrangements for the short- and long-term, knowing how to communicate with and manage home-based employees during a crisis will continue to be critical.
“The biggest adjustment to responding to a crisis when in a remote working environment is probably the need for increased internal communications,” Jones said. “Without employees being able to be physically in the office to see and hear how leadership is responding, it is important that they receive more frequent updates on the situation and what is being done.”
