Vice President of Digital Strategy Chris Ferris recently joined a panel of Houston’s top marketing executives to share the latest in-demand marketing skills for job seekers during ANA Houston’s Coffee & Careers event.
His key advice for job seekers? Ferris said you can develop a certain amount of skills to get started in digital marketing, but more important is the ability to adapt, learn new things and be curious. The more hats you wear and the better you can think about things outside of the lane in which you started, the more successful you will be in pivoting to something new.
“You have got to be flexible and able to adapt to change,” he says. “If you come to a job with every skill that’s needed, you’re probably over-qualified for that job.”
