Kent brings more than 10 years of communications and public policy experience. Prior to joining Pierpont, he previously worked in public affairs for the Dallas office of a large, international public relations agency. His previous agency experience included spending time embedded in the public affairs war room of one of the largest telecommunications companies in the world and managing several leading client accounts in industries such as technology, real estate and health care.
Before settling in Dallas, Kent worked in electoral politics, where he ran communications for candidates and elected officials in Michigan, West Virginia and Texas. Before his time on the campaign trail, Kent served on the staff in the Texas House of Representatives, at the White House Office of Management and Budget and on Capitol Hill. Additionally, Kent worked as a public sector marketing and sales consultant for a large government relations firm and as a lobbyist for a national trade association, where he represented defense contractors and IT firms.
Kent has a Bachelors of Arts in communications and political science from Southwestern University and a Masters of Arts in political management from the George Washington University.
