As a Senior Account Executive, you will play an active role in the execution of strategic communications campaigns, using creativity, strong writing skills and top-notch media relations abilities to drive visibility for clients ranging from the Fortune 500 to brand new startups. You’ll be a vital part of a team that seeks to distill complex concepts or technologies into compelling stories that thoughtfully illustrate our clients’ impact on their stakeholders and the world at large. Our Austin office is growing rapidly, with a diverse client mix in industries including but not limited to technology, energy, healthcare, education and professional services. As a Senior Account Executive, you can expect to:

  • Play a meaningful role in strategy creation and communications planning
    Flex your media relations skills and further grow your network of journalists and influencers by developing captivating storylines and pitches
  • Create high-quality external communications content and materials on behalf of clients
  • Spearhead in-depth research to inform planning and strategy
  • Assist in Pierpont’s business development process via brainstorms, research and proposal development
  • Participate in an extensive internal Learning & Development program designed to sharpen and grow skillsets
  • Work alongside talented peers and senior communications professionals committed to growth for our clients, our business and our employees

What We’re Looking For

  • At least three (3) years of full-time experience in public relations, preferably in an agency setting
  • Knowledge of and interest in B2B communications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven earned media relations experience (i.e. experience pitching and successfully securing media coverage)
  • Meticulous attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Ability to turn around high-quality work on tight deadlines
  • Positive attitude with flexibility re: changing deadlines and evolving workloads
  • Ability to work with multiple teams on multiple projects and deliver against wider organizational goals
  • Familiarity with the following technologies and programs: Microsoft Office, PRNewswire, Meltwater and Hootsuite (or similar media monitoring/publishing platforms)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations preferred
