Scott Cytron Scott H.
Cytron, ABC, senior vice president, joined Pierpont in 2007 following 13 years
of being a sole practitioner serving clients in professional services' industries.
His biggest decision each morning is what side of his brain to use - left or right. On the left side where the numbers add up, he consults with accountants, financial planners, collection and debt professionals, and software engineers. On the right side where the sky is blue and the stars are bright, Scott writes news and feature articles, columns and editorials; edits newsletters; serves as editor for several national trade magazines; and teaches writing techniques to communicators and vertical industry professionals. Left brain or right brain? It's most often a mix of the two. Scott is a Dallas native who has worked almost three decades in the communications profession in internal and external roles. After graduating from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Journalism, Scott worked for several nonprofit organizations, a public relations agency and a state association before venturing out on his own. Seeing a niche to fill by delivering communications and public relations to professional services organizations, Scott formed Cytron and Company in 1996. In advising professionals across the country to market and promote their businesses to achieve the correct message and the greatest impact, he delivered a variety of communications-based services. Finding himself at a crossroads, Scott joined Pierpont to help build business for the agency's Dallas office. He continues serving the clients he brought to the firm, but also spends a good deal of his time in business development. In addition to driving for Meals on Wheels and working with various local causes, Scott's primary volunteer work focuses on the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), where he has held a number of leadership positions at the local, district and international levels. He currently is a member of the International Board of Directors, and previously served two years as secretary/treasurer. He is a past director of the Southern Region, and a past member of the Accreditation Council, where he served as director of Portfolios. He served as acting chair of the International Audit Committee in 2003. Scott was president of the 330-member Dallas Chapter in 2000. Contact Scott by sending him an e-mail or calling 214.217.7300. |
