AUSTIN – Pierpont Communications has appointed Stacy Armijo general manager for its Austin office, effective immediately.
According to Pierpont CEO Phil Morabito, “We opened our Austin office ten years ago at the height of the technology boom, followed quickly the technology bust, and Stacy has helped us weather the ups and downs since. She has been integral to helping Pierpont thrive in Austin over the last decade and I’m excited to see what she can help us accomplish in the next one.”
Armijo began work with Pierpont in 2001, ascending through various account service roles over the years. Today, she leads account service for Pierpont clients in Austin and is responsible for business development for the office. In addition, Armijo will lead Pierpont’s social media practice, called Digital Influence, and continues to be instrumental in cultivating the firm’s partnership with the Texas Star Alliance for Pierpont’s public affairs clients.
Armijo commented on Pierpont’s opportunities in Austin, “Pierpont’s strength has always been our broad, integrated service offering. Our job is to understand how to bring influence to bear for our clients. Whether we do that through media coverage in national news outlets, targeted marketing initiatives to generate leads or social media campaigns to support public policy, our clients benefit from our broad approach and extensive experience and I believe that will continue to drive growth for us in Austin.”
In addition to her role at Pierpont, Armijo is also active in the Austin community. Currently, she serves as President-Elect of the Professional Chapters Council of the American Marketing Association and is a Past President of the organization’s Austin chapter. She is also a Trusted Advisor for Vistage International, the world’s foremost chief executive leadership organization. In addition, she is Program Chair for Leadership Austin’s Emerge program and a graduate of its Essential Class of 2010; Chair-Elect of the American Red Cross of Central Texas; and a mentor with Communities in Schools of Austin.
Armijo graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a bachelor’s degree in public relations and speaks regularly on public relations, marketing and social media.
