Savage Presents on Cybersecurity Panel

As technology advances, more and more business is conducted digitally. This shift brings about convenience and speed, but also risk, as sensitive information is being stolen at an alarming rate.

Earlier this month, Senior Vice President and Dallas General Manager James Savage participated in a panel discussing cybersecurity, cyber breaches and, as a result, how reputational impacts can be even more costly than financial hits.

The panel walked attendees through how to manage an incident and how to mitigate cybersecurity risks to a business. This included preparing a communication plan for if a crisis occurs; how to respond to a breach, notifying affected individuals and regulators, answering insurance questions and hiring experts such as legal counsel, a cyber incident response team and crisis managers.

Pierpont client Reliant sponsored the cybersecurity panel. Savage joined Chad Adams, cybersecurity advisor at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security; Josef Hamilton, director of operations at High Touch Technologies; and Anjelica Solano, public relations manager at the North Texas Tollway Authority. The panel was moderated by Troy Ashby, business development director at Whitley Penn.
