Senior Account Executive

Pierpont's Dallas office is seeking a dynamic communicator to independently lead public relations and integrated marketing accounts for B2B and B2C clients in diverse verticals. 

Pierpont DNAJoin Texas’ largest independent communications agency in America’s fastest-growing metropolitan area. We’re looking for an experienced communications professional who can independently manage accounts for clients in diverse verticals. As a versatile team player, you will also mentor junior staff and support new business efforts.

Reporting to the Senior VP and General Manager, you will integrate within account teams to support multiple clients by developing and executing integrated communications programs—which may include strategic planning, traditional media relations, press material development, marketing and social media activities, industry and company research and reporting.

This position is ideal for a skilled communications professional who loves new challenges and isn’t afraid to push the envelope to generate meaningful results for our clients in the corporate (B2B) and consumer (B2C) spaces.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee operational performance of accounts, ensuring quality work, deadline and budget adherence.
  • Day-to-day leadership on key accounts with responsibility for regular client contact, ensuring that the client is satisfied with relevant account activity.
  • Play major role in creation of communications plans and goals—and manage and report against them.
  • Serve as daily client contact and act as client lead when appropriate, as well as address client issues thoughtfully and effectively to successfully manage the relationship.
  • Consistently produce high-quality internal and external communications content across myriad platforms (media, marketing, blogs and social media).
  • Build relationships with third-party influencers and internal business partners to proactively meet client needs.
  • Demonstrate tactical proficiency in media relations, including creating and driving both traditional and social media outreach plans.
  • Mentor junior staff by motivating, coaching, consistently providing feedback and communicating accountability and expectations.
  • Contribute to business growth through introducing clients to new capabilities, building network of industry contacts and participating in relevant professional organizations.
  • Commit to continuous learning and improvement of leadership skills by establishing a professional development plan with stretch goals.
  • Be a great team player who embodies a positive attitude, professional appearance, solid communication skills, personal initiative and a good sense of humor.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned and expected, as needed.

Required Qualifications

Must hold a bachelor’s degree in PR, marketing, communications, journalism or related field. Must have at least four years of relevant work experience in public relations and/or related fields including research, advertising/marketing, journalism, management consulting, media and publishing.

Must have excellent writing, verbal, editing and interpersonal skills. Must demonstrate capability in delegating assignments, prioritizing, leading others and receiving cooperation from other departments/offices.

Preferred Qualifications

Proven ability to manage large projects (including budgets) and small teams simultaneously, function as a daily client contact, as well as develop and execute plans to meet client goals. Demonstrated ability to delegate and accurately judge and edit the work of others. Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Familiarity and established contacts/relationships with DFW media. Spanish language proficiency desirable.
