What did you learn from the recent earthquake on the East Coast? Hopefully it’s that you should let your family know you’re ok before you check-in to the earthquake on Foursquare. Check out this Foursquare
East Coast check-in.
And now the Digital Influence Weekly…
First this week, you may have noticed people talking about Google+ brand pages coming. One hint is that when you go to enter your employer name, it automatically suggests possible companies you might work for including their logos. If Google+ wants to link employees together like on LinkedIn then it’s not a far stretch to see that brand pages are on the horizon.
Also, today is the last day to vote for
South by Southwest Interactive panels. If you’ve been online at all the last few weeks, no doubt you’ve seen others promote their panels covering all kinds of topics from web development to design impact to legal concerns to social media management. I just so happen to be on one of these possible panels ready to be voted in. Titled, Building a Jewish Presence Thru Social Media, we will take a look at how communities interact offline and the expectations to carry that interaction online. While the focus is on Jewish communities, the application can be used for communities of all kinds. Each community has their own way of getting the word out and bringing people together. We will review some of the considerations when developing your community outreach via social media. We’ll also answer how to bridge the generational, technological and ideological gaps that can exist in any community.
Please sign up for free (at the top) and vote for the panel all at

Have a great Labor Day weekend and please read Lisa Johnson’s post about
unplugging this weekend. It’s time to relax!
