Digital Influence Weekly - Making New Friends

The revolution will not be televised… it will be on YouTube. That’s right, the new Social Media Revolution video is up and running. It’s a great tool to help convince the unconvinced that the web and mobile technologies are continuing to grow as the primary means of communications. I personally like the mention of LinkedIn receiving a new member every second. I expect that number to increase, as should you.

And now on to the Digital Influence Weekly…

So you’ve been on Twitter for a while and your network has leveled off. However, you want to continue to grow your circle with relevant contacts you can either learn from or partner with. How can you revitalize your stream? Try these methods out.

- You are the weakest link – goodbye! Go through and delete people you don’t care to hear from, you don’t converse with or who don’t post anything.
- You like Kenny G and long walks on the beach? I LOVE KENNY G AND LONG WALKS ON THE BEACH! – Look at who is retweeting what you are retweeting. If you share the same interests, you may have found a new friend.
- Add your Twitter handle to your business card and online profiles such as LinkedIn.
- Check Twitter’s “Who To Follow” tab. They may not all be winners but it’s a start.
- Drag them down with you! Show someone what Twitter is and how you find it to be of use. They may decide to join in on fun.
- #hashtags – You’re putting hashtags in your tweets, but you’re not searching to see who did the same. Search for a relevant hashtags and find those like-minded individuals.

That’s it for now. Have a great Father’s Day this weekend!
