What does this really cool
infograph of Americans’ use of Social Media show? It doesn’t say that we like talking about food or politics, which I thought was interesting. But we sure do love to talk about TV, celebrities and video games. Take a look at the chart and see where you fit in. If you recall the Library of Congress is cataloguing all American tweets to get a snapshot of the country. I wonder if their current snapshot matches up with this.
And now, the Digital Influence Weekly…
Lisa Johnson (@LisaJohnsonTX) and I (@BriguyBlock) attended the Social Media Breakfast of Houston this morning to hear Dale Harrison, President of enGrant.com, talk about analytics and what more can be done with them than determining who has visited your site.
There were so many great pieces of information that it’s hard to determine what should be put up here from the discussion. The only thing I’ll say is that you have to use analytics creatively.
- Use them to determine when someone is engaging you - is it before or after your messaging?
- Are you bound to follow what the analytics tell you to do for marketing purposes or will you use that information to create change in how and when people interact with your online campaign?
- Will the analytics influence your writing style or design? If so, think of what that might do to your original voice.
