Senior Vice President and General Manager

Teresa Henderson is Senior Vice President for Pierpont Communications and General Manager of the firm’s Dallas operations. A global teambuilding specialist with more than 25 years of experience in crisis communications, issues and corporate reputation management, she provides senior counsel for clients across all four of Pierpont’s offices.

Teresa has deep expertise working across geographies for clients in various industries including oil & gas, energy & utilities, food processing, education, retail, hospitality, technology, manufacturing, healthcare and numerous member-based organizations. Her past clients include industry leaders such as Southwest Airlines, Barnett Shale Energy Education Council, FedEx Corp., Boy Scouts of America, USAA, Starbucks, The Home Depot, ExxonMobil, Dickies, Reliant Energy, The Lance Armstrong Foundation, Nokia, Cadbury Schweppes Americas Beverages and many more.

Prior to joining Pierpont, Teresa was responsible for Edelman’s Dallas operations and served as corporate practice lead for the firm’s Southwest region. In 2011, she led the planning and management of the nation’s first “Biggest Energy Saver” consumer outreach program developed by an industry-first consortium that included Oncor, CenterPoint Energy, IBM, Landis+Gyr, Itron and GE. While working as director for Ketchum’s Texas operations from 1999 until 2005, she spent six months on special assignment as director of global issues/crisis management and media relations for the ATHENS 2004 Olympic Torch Relay, which included building and managing teams in 33 cities around the world.

Teresa holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Old Dominion University and is a graduate of Leadership Dallas. She is a Board of Directors member for the Dallas Regional Chamber, Chair of the Chamber’s communications council and has served on numerous non-profit boards including Dallas Zoological Society, Junior Achievement, Girl Scouts of Texas Northeast Council and Family Gateway, Inc.
